A truly adventurous expedition to a remote and wild region of the Great Himalayas, with full logistic support – this is a journey that seeks a different route, a fresh perspective, a challenge. Our route traverses a spectacular, seldom visited region of Nepal and crosses “three High Mountain passes”. Only on the very final section does it meet the popular southern approach to Everest Base Camp at Chhukung. The rare views, some of which will be ours alone, are quite the most breathtaking in the whole Himalayan range: sublime vistas in which are amplified the power of three of the world’s five highest mountains: Mt. Makalu, Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest. The trek offers the satisfaction of absorbing at first hand the culture and folklore of tribal hill and mountain people and the flora and fauna of remote Eastern Nepal.
It is an extreme high altitude trek crossing three high mountain passes which is really challenging route for the trekkers. High level of physical fitness, good health, prior mountaineering experiences, mountaineering skills, experience mountain guide and sherpas especially for this trek, mountaineering equipment like ice axe, ropes, crampons are highly recommended.

Free day in Kathmandu,
Trek start walking up to Khandbari (1,040 m). We walk north towards Khandbari, and then begin walking for around 4-5 hours of trek to Khandbari.
After breakfast walk through small picturesque villages most of the time. You will be walking through bamboo groves and a rhododendron forest.
We start walking with views of snow-capped peaks in the distance. Beautiful views of Makalu and its surrounding peak.
The trail descends steeply from Num through the Cornfield of Lumbang. The path is particularly rocky; tiny terraces planted with corn and barley.
The trail crosses meadows and several streams, then climbs to the Sherpa village of Tashi Gaun
The trail goes up real steep. We walk through the sparse forests along the ridge over a hill and descend a bit to Kauma.
Acclimatization day and explore around Kauma.
We trek through rhododendron forests to the top of the ridge. You will have superb views of Chamlang (7,290m), Peak VI (6,739 m) and Peak VII (6,105 m).
The trails are rocky and sloppy mud in places as it leads up the glacial valley. From here you can have good views of Peak VI.
The trail leads westward and leaves the rhododendron forests. There are excellent views of Pyramid Peak (7,168 m), Peak IV (6,720 m) and so on.
You may visit around some interesting hike and view point. Hike on the right side of the camp above for the closer view of Mt. Makalu, Barun Pokhari and the view of the rare face of Everest the Kanshung face with Lhotse.
A short day we continue to more isolated area towards the High Makalu Base Camp, which is less than three hour trek above Sherson. Upon your arrival at the camp, afternoon free for short hike above the camp, climb to the moraine ridge, for more spectacular views of Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Everest which looms above the Barun glacier to the North West.
Our trail leads us westwards to camp just below Makalu west pillar, as the altitude gains slowly; we take our time with enough breaks in this high terrain. We can see the excellent view of Mt. Makalu’s West Pillar, Mt. Lhotse and the rare Khangsung face of Mt. Everest.
As getting more adventures and higher elevation we are leaving our camp the path follows to a steep climb up the rocky slopes of the Barun’s west bank. A line of cairns leads us into the valley where two small glaciers are fed by the slopes of the Sherpani Col.
Today is an important rest day for well acclimatization before the Hard High Climb and steep descend. At this altitude offers superb views of the giant West Face and West Pillar of Makalu. Here our expert guides will check the route and make the pass accessible by fixing ropes on pass.
We leave the camp and climb on the icy snout of the Sherpani Glacier, three separate Col’s give access to the cirque; we will choose the most appropriate of these routes, previous day our expert guide had fixed the ropes on the trail. From the Col we will rope up to cross the glacier to the rocky crest of the West Col. From the pass our guides will scout the safe route down the West Col. Descent from the Col on fixed lines leads us to the Hongu Glacier and end our long hard day.
Our trail leads us to next adventure over the Amphu Labtsa. Following the rocky glacier then we reach the beautiful Panch Pokhari meaning (Five Lakes) and make our camp near to the largest pond at the foot of our final pass Amphu Labtsa (5,780 m).
Another well-earned rest day, which gives us break to pull back our strength back for the final assault over the last big pass.
Today, we have a short day walk up to high altitudes to Amphu Labtsa high camp. Here our guides will go up to the Amphu Labtsa and will fix ropes on some difficult section for the safe descent towards Imajatse valley for the next day cross to Amphu Labtsa.
Another big day; early in the morning trek start from the camp for 3 – 4 hours to the top of the pass and overlooking stunning views of the impressive south face of Lhotse and Lhotse shar and the summit of Island or Imajatse Peaks. We slowly and carefully descend with the help of ropes and ice axe if required, then reaching the safe side from the pass.
Follow the main Khumbu Valley down to site of the Himalayan Rescue Association’s Trekkers’ Aid Post and continue to Dingboche.
The trail continues through meadows where yaks graze. In the distance you can glimpse the summit of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse.
The trail descends to the right flank of the Dudh Koshi and then leads to the large Sherpa settlement and then ascends to the Namche Bazar.
Rest day in Namche Bazzar & overnight stay in camp [3,440 m]. Explore around Namche Bazzar.
Descends along the gorge of the Dudh Koshi to the village of Phakding.
