“The Lost Valley of Naar-Phu” Trek in the remote valley of Manang District and it is a taste of old Tibet, preserved for centuries by its isolation in the High Himalayas. This area consists of two main villages – Naar with 300 permanent residents called Naar-ten and Phu with 200 permanent residents called Phu-ten and required special permit with limited number of travelers can visit this destination. These remote villages are situated above tree line and completely cut off during the snowy winter months and for over 1000 years; these people have maintained their own unique lifestyle. Situated just off the Annapurna Circuit route, the trail to Naar-Phu explores remote villages, Tibetan people, forests, narrow canyons, Buddhist Gompa and majestic mountains.
The route goes through Naar-Phu villages, Kang-La Pass and following day reach to Manang but we start our trek with a scenic drive to Jagat and hiking from Jagat, Dharapani, Koto, Meta and reaching to Phu Gaon and Naar the remote destination of our trek. To reach Naar and Phu we trek through wonderful pine forests, streams and suspension bridge inside the Tibetan Plateau where we have a very good view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. We will also visit the ruined forts of the Khampa settlement along the rocky trail and experience culture, natural diversity and religious practices of the ethnic groups like Lama, Gurung and Ghale. In this remote area, it is possible to take in the culture of the people living there. The farmers live as they have always done, growing potatoes, barley, buckwheat, vegetables, raising yaks and sheep.
