Gorilla Trek is a trekking route in Nepal providing an opportunity to see the effect of Maoist civil wars and its effect in Rukum and Rolpa district of Nepal. It provides one an opportunity to meet the people and to know about the major war affected area of western region of Nepal where of Maoist established headquarter and declared that as it is a main base area. You can see a lot of ethnicity enrich the route including Brahmin, Kshetri, Dalit, Gurung, Magar, Newar and Thakuri. This trek introduce the visitors the real image of Maoist civil war that how the gorillas operated and fought during the conflict. In spite of what the name might suggest, the area is very peaceful nowadays. And not only it is focused for war factor but also it is a very rich area for both traditionally and culturally.
Gorilla Trek journey begins with a flight to Pokhara and drive to Darbang via Beni. On the way of trekking trail we will visit the wide range of multi-ethnic groups with diverse culture, historical sentiments of war and local cultivation with beautiful landscapes areas of Takam, Lungsum, Gurjaghat, Chhentung (Dhorpatan), Niseldhor, Tallo Sera, Rujhi Khola, Thabang, Jaljala, Jelbang, and finally ends at Sulichaur of Rolpa District. This was hiding trails for the Maoist during the political conflict therefore still; we can see the so many victims of war in the area and we will get to know the pain and hardship of locals who were stock in this area for the long war of 10 years. Another highlight of the trail is you will have an amazing view of Mt. Dhaulagiri range and Saipal Himal. As non-availability of hotel/ lodges in the trail we will be on a camping/tent trek with our crew member bringing all the necessary equipment.
In this trek one will experience the war during the 10-year Armed Conflict in Nepal with more than 15,000 Nepali people. We assure you not to hold any doubt in your heart about this trek as whatever the name says, the lands that Gorilla Trek covers are extremely peaceful and soothing these day and can be the best option for interaction with local in remote village.

1) Travel Insurance (Mandatory)
a) Have your travel insurance policy to cover theft, loss and medical
problems is an excellent idea for travel in Nepal. Check your
policies available carefully because some policies exclude
“Dangerous activities”.
b) Choose a policy that covers medical and emergency repatriation,
including helicopter evacuation for trekkers and general medical
evacuation to hospital.
c) Do not forget to say your travel insurance company where you are
travelling (country) and about your activities like trekking, climbing
or expedition and their altitude too.
Note: Make copies of your Insurance policy and do not forget to
carry your travel insurance policy number with you.
2) Valid Passport and Visa
a) A valid passport and two passport size photos with a light
background.
b) Normally, visa can be issued on your arrival at the Tribhuvan
International Airport (TIA) OR major surface entry points.
c) Make copies of your passport with including your visa pages with
you and take it with you during your expedition, trekking, tour
period.
3) Cancellation Policy
We understand things happen and plans change and will refund your
deposit minus a $150 cancelation fee. Once we have booked your
flight between Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lukla your deposit is non-
refundable. If your travel dates change we can generally reschedule
you at no extra charge, but please provide at least 7 days advance
notice.
Note: After starting the tour, trekking in your destination: – No
refund.
4) Payment Method
a) Deposit should be 50% of total amount per person (to be agreed).
b) Confirmation: On receipt of deposit the Clients place on the
program will be confirmed.
c) Balance: Due no later than 60 days prior to trip departure.
Method: By bank transfer, credit card, cheques, or by cash.
d) Balance not received by the agreed date: We reserve the right to
cancel the booking and the deposit will be forfeited – unless The
Client specifies another date which The Company accepts.
Note:
1) Bank charges will be charged at cost and payment by cost
entails 4% extra.
2) Please provide us with your bank receipt, after transfer of
payment to our Account (A/c).
